Improving the quality of life for people with allergies
Allergies affect the physical and mental health of 20% of people worldwide. Kenvue, distributor of ZYRTEC© in the U.S., is committed to uncovering new ways to meet the unique needs of allergy sufferers, beyond traditional antihistamines. It asked Innovia to explore how allergy needs are changing, to deeply understand what consumers need from allergy treatments, and identify opportunities to improve their quality of life.
We extrapolated existing unmet consumer needs to hypothesise what the most critical issues will be for allergy sufferers in 10 years’ time. We used our deep understanding of allergy physiology to generate a range of breakthrough approaches to meet these future needs. We prioritised approaches that were technically feasible, meaningful for allergy sufferers, and that presented a compelling business case for Kenvue.
This work provided Kenvue with several opportunities to radically improve the lives of future allergy sufferers, especially sufferers who are underserved by current treatments. The resulting recommendations have helped to shape Kenvue’s robust innovation pipeline and to secure the position of ZYRTEC© as a leader in allergy care.
