We help our clients to create growth in a changing world, and digitisation has been a significant opportunity for many. One of our consultants, Alex Massey, will be describing why and how at Cambridge Wireless’ International Conference on Digitising Industry on 26 June.
Alex Massey is an innovation consultant with a background in chemistry. He has helped Shell, GE Healthcare, Anglo American, and other companies think through how prospective new technologies should influence their long-term innovation strategy. One of Alex’s key roles at Innovia is to lead projects that involve how people interact with products and technologies.
“Will technological innovation or industry’s eternal drive for better margins be the greater definer of 21st century economics? The unstoppable rise of the internet giants to their current positions has been remarkable – and, at least before the turn of the last millennium, unpredictable.
Yet it is important for those in the technology industry to not underplay the extent to which vertical markets have always embraced technological change, and the impact that mature industries will have on the economics of next generation communications. Many industries have quickly adopted the implications of the connected world and are now pulling it forwards at pace. And the mobile industry, which has relied hitherto on mass consumerism, is now sprinting to keep up with the diversity of demand arising from the complexity of each vertical market.
Tracks cover agriculture, automotive & mobility services, intelligent cities, manufacturing, retail & consumer devices and utilities. Speakers confirmed to date come from Anglian Water, ghd, EDF Energy, Mott McDonald, Magna, Centrica, Ofcom, IBM and Siemens – to name a few.”
