Improving dishwasher performance
Increasing complexity of consumer habits and the introduction of new detergent formulations have made it challenging to improve aspects of dishwasher performance. Electrolux asked Innovia to identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve an aspect of dishwasher performance that could be implemented rapidly.
Starting from the consumer’s experience and fundamental surface science, we created a broad range of specific concepts. We used a structured exploration process that drew upon a range of analogies from manmade products and processes and nature. Innovia’s concept development involved detailed calculations, experiments, interviews with technology specialists and focussed investigations into nanotechnology, ultrasonics and plasma processing.
Electrolux is currently developing the lead concepts and intends to file several patents based on our ideas.
