Improving user experience and reducing cost


Coloplast is a world leader in consumer medical devices, with product ranges in ostomy, urology, continence and wound care. As part of its ongoing drive for innovation and improvement, Coloplast asked Innovia to redesign one of its market-leading products for easier manufacture without compromising its acclaimed functionality.


Four months later, we presented functional prototypes of our final concept to a group of senior managers from marketing and manufacturing.


The concept used a simple design change, which has the potential to both radically improve the user’s experience, and reduce manufactured costs by 15%. It is now part of Coloplast’s product development pipeline.
