We work in breakthrough innovation. We use our broad knowledge of science, technology and business to challenge industry-specific assumptions and deliver fresh insights to our clients, helping them create compelling product, service and process innovations to help their businesses grow.

Our dynamic, multi-disciplinary teams draw on the deep technical knowledge of our physicists, designers, engineers, chemists, biochemists and behavioural scientists to solve challenging problems for our clients in unexpected ways.

Teams are brought together on a project-by-project basis, drawing from the different disciplines according to the challenge. A consultant is likely to be part of several different teams at once, and work on varied and wide-ranging projects, typically lasting from a few weeks to several months.

Innovia’s employees in business support roles work closely with consultants, and may also have opportunities to take on client-facing roles or directly contribute to project work.

Our learning environment

We continuously develop our team’s skills through a comprehensive internal training programme and shared learning sessions, as well as external courses and conferences tailored to suit individual needs.

Our balanced culture

Innovia’s culture seeks to balance fun, fulfilment and finance – it’s just as important to make Innovia a great place to work as it is to reward people well and make the business grow and thrive.

Our client relationships

We have built our business on strong, long-term relationships with clients, partners and with each other. We eat lunch together daily to ensure that we all take a well-earned break, whether that involves catching up on each others’ projects or discussing more important non-work matters!

What we are looking for

Consultants (graduates or mid-career; summer interns and short-term placements) will need to show:

Technical ability: a strong understanding of the fundamental principles of their discipline, and the ability to apply them to unfamiliar problems, as evidenced by an exceptional academic track record. Wide curiosity and interest and the ability to quickly learn about new areas of technology are also vital.

Problem solving: the ability to think in a clear and structured manner about complex topics, and take a creative approach to exploring new solutions. Consultants must be comfortable with the level of ambiguity and uncertainty inherent in front-end innovation.

Client-facing skills: excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, and an interest in the work of our clients. Consultants are expected to be able and willing to travel internationally.

Team skills: the ability to engage well with a team, and contribute to complex technical discussions. Consultants will take responsibility for their own work and time, and need to be proactive, show attention to detail, and work to deadlines.

See Callum’s blog on his experiences when he started at Innovia to get a flavour of what it’s like.

Our business support teams in operational support, e.g. IT, Finance, HR and Marketing, are best in class, just like our consultants. Together, we are a close-knit team aligned to support our core consulting work. Our collaborative leadership style allows people to play to their strengths and provide different perspectives, and we’re looking forward to hearing yours. Our employees are:

  1. friendly, flexible and supportive
  2. excellent communicators
  3. proactive and positive, demonstrating a can-do attitude
  4. observant, with strong attention to detail
  5. fast learners
  6. highly skilled in their specialisms
  7. professional in all interactions
